Singer Featherweight 221 Rubber Honing Stick, Polierstab

Polierstab - damit können kleine Unebenheiten, Scharten sowie Rostflecken z.B. an der Stichplatte, an den Fadenspannungsscheiben, Spulenkapsel oder am "Loop Guard" wegpoliert werden,. Zur Verwendung gibt es ein  Video (auf Englisch).

Den "Loop Guard" kann man auch neu im Shop kaufen. Ist dort eine kleine Scharte, lässt die Maschine Stiche aus. Ich hatte mal eine FW, da hat das Teil komplett gefehlt und die Maschine hat gar nicht genäht. Ich baute dazu eine zweite FW auseinander und fand so den Fehler.

This tool is used for cleaning rust and burrs off parts like the Featherweight hook assembly, loop guard, the bobbin case, and the tension discs.  The rubber honing stick will allow you to quickly and conveniently smooth out and polish any rough spots that would hinder the thread path.  Simply take the stick and firmly rub back and forth on the rust or rough spots that need filing down.

The Rubber Honing Stick is made with an abrasive material, and while good for polishing areas on mechanical parts, it should not be used on any polished chrome parts like the faceplate, needle plate, or stop back motion knob.
